Brave the Wilderness 2026 (still under construction)

- Faith Formation

Brave the Wilderness is a week long, overnight camp for middle school students hosted and put together by several parishes from the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston. Held at Forest Glen in Huntsville, Texas, Brave gives students an opportunity for teens to meet members of other local parishes while building lasting relationships with them and with Christ. Camp activities include zipline, rock wall, swimming, competition games, nightly talks, prayer experiences, Adoration, daily Mass and so much more!

Brave the Wilderness is open to students enrolled in 8th grade as well as 9th-12th for the 2025-2026 school year. Transportation, food & a t-shirt are provided.
Spots are limited so register (35) and reserve your today by filling out the form on our website! There is priority for St. Clare of Assisi parishioners and school families, and we will have a waitlist if necessary.

The overall cost per retreatant is $TBD. The initial payment will be a nonrefundable $TBD deposit. This is due upon online registration. The remaining balance of $TBD is due NO LATER THAN April 1, 2026. That is also the last day to drop out of the retreat. If you haven't paid the full amount by the April 1 deadline, you will be dropped unless you have contacted and work something out with me prior (like a payment plan if necessary). Please note that after April 1, the remaining balance is non-refundable even if you decide to drop after that date.

Scholarships and fundraising are available so do not let money be an issue! Any fundraising amounts will go towards scholarships, lowering the remaining $TBD cost and providing a St. Clare-specific shirt.

Chaperones (21+) and program assistants (adults 19-20) are free but will need to register below as well as do a background check and attend camp-specific training later in Spring 2026. There will be a discernment process for program assistants.

Please note there will be a meeting for parents and retreatants closer to the camp date.
